It wasn't for lack of effort, as the title provides a sufficient challenge without being too lengthy (as seen in this YouTube playthrough, the game is only about twenty minutes long from start to finish). Back in 1990, Rare released one of the worst "Spider-Man" games ever made - the infamous "The Amazing Spider-Man" on Game Boy.
As it turns out, they can't all be winners.
